Stress in Sacramento!

Well I'm hoping that I have gotten rid of all my bad luck and stress for the entire race in the stage today. I had a rear flat at an unimportant time. Then despite my recon and knowledge of the course along with me being in the front of the group, I missed the critical split by about 5 wheels in the crosswind. Then during the chaos, I hit some crazy big metal thing that came careening through the group and got a front flat. Honestly I was happy with that result because it could've caused a nasty crash. After a fast, hard chase, I regained contact with the broken field. After recovering my breath a little, I watched the rider in front of me overlap wheels with the rider in front of him, which ultimately brought him to ground. As he and his bike bounced around in front of me, I was certain I was going down. By some miracle I was able to avoid the bike, however I was not able to avoid the rider. I actually ran directly over him somewhere on his shoulder/bicep area. I felt quite bad about it, but I was unbelievably happy not to crash. After I chased back on again I was at my limit of stress and did everything I could to just relax a little and get to the finish in one piece with no loss. Thankfully I was able to accomplish that mission and I am onto the TT tomorrow on even ground. Send me thoughts of strong legs for the TT and I'll report back the results. Thanks!

Be stronger than the wind, of one focus and feel the strength and speed you have, let the dogs run hard.

Oh, my! Hopefully it's all out of your system now. I'm so glad you weren't injured. Try to relax and enjoy the rest of the race! Good luck to you and the team.
