Year End 2013

Yikes, I had no idea it had been so long since I posted last. I guess I've been pretty busy! It may have been the off season for the bike, but that only meant it was the "on" season for trying to accomplish everything that I had neglected during the season, or if I was on top of things (never possible!), it is a chance to get ahead on things for 2014. I don't have any amazing stories to report off the top of my head. I suppose a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year are due though! Basically, I've just been trying to get settled into the house and been slowly building back into my training. See below for my picture summary!

Mountain biking with Lisa :)
Went for a rainy day hike/picnic.
Did some exploratory riding on the CX bike.
Gave the kids a bath because they had gotten dirty from all their fun.
Had s'mores on the street! A Brevard Christmas festival tradition.
Found the North/South Carolina border while exploring some old logging roads in the middle of NOWHERE!
Found a "fork in the road". I took the unmarked one :)
One of many gorgeous mountain bike rides in/through Dupont State Forest.
More fun tearing up the trails with Lisa.
A detour to Bridal Veil Falls.
Rewarded with an awesome day on the Blue Ridge Parkway after doing my lactate testing.
Headed to northern Minnesota for Christmas with Lisa's family.
It would be a crime not to play hockey when you're in Minnesota!
My brother-in-law doing some jumping jacks to get warm during a ride in single digit temps.
Just relaxing on the evening of Christmas day at my parent's house, missing my brother.
Doing my best to stay warm while battling the elements.
Went to a hockey game with my family. Hadn't been in probably 10+ years. Fun times!
Using our DQ gift card on our drive back to Brevard: banana split blizzards taste pretty good!
And that brings us up to date I think! We're back in Brevard now and happy to be ringing in the New Year. 2013 was a success on many fronts and I'm looking forward to stepping up and improving on it again in 2014. Thanks for following and come back again!

Really like that photo of the hidden state line...looks like great riding or running!

Best of luck in your first race of the season, and belated congrats on the Vuelta and all else last year. Always inspiring to check in on your progress.
