Utah Stage 1

Despite the length of today's stage (211km), it went by surprisingly quick. A break rolled away after about 30 minutes. After the break got about 12 minutes, we collaborated with Garmin and began the chase. Jens and Joost did an amazing amount of work today to bring us close before the last climb, where we caught the remaining guys of the break. Some attacks were sprung on the final climb, which definitely whittled the field down. The final selection was 40 guys at the finish. George, Chris, and I did the best we could to cover the attacks in the final 20km, and we did a good job of damage control not losing anything other than the time bonuses on the line. Of course a stage win or higher stage finish(es) would have been good for our start time in the time trial tomorrow, but it shouldn't be too big of a deal. That's about it. Tomorrow's team time trial will be the first decisive moment of the race. Really hoping Jens can recover because he is going to be vital for us. He went so deep today that he is dead on his bed right now. Send him/us the strength!
